South Asian Village Empowerment International

A 501(C3)(3) Tax Exempt Charitable Non-Profit Corporation

Mission Statement

South Asian Village Empowerment International's (SAVE-INTL) goal is to provide the socially disadvantaged rural poor of Tamilnadu, South India with the tools to create a better and more secure future for themselves, their families and their villages.

These are the tools of self-empowerment: education, vocational skills, knowledge, literacy, and numeracy, which can lead them to enhanced economic security, social respect and power and greater community cooperation and solidarity.

Tamilnadu Village Outreach and Research Association (TVO) is the Tamilnadu, India based "Registered Charitable Trust" that we work in partnership with to make these goals reality.

Starting with a meeting in January 2004 with TVO, SAVE-INTL has slowly and carefully developed an effective and sustainable program that presently extends to over 17 villages in a regional network of after-school study and tuition centers and women's vocational training programs housed in permanent buildings constructed specifically for this purpose and donated to the village.
